Do you love your pet? Most pet owners treat their own dogs like members of the family. Your dog can get cold or hot just like you can. In fact, some pets may be more sensitive to bad weather than you are. Eve a dog with a heavy coat, may get too cold in frigid weather. A hairless dog can get dehydrated or over heated when it is really hot outside.

What can you do to keep your pet cool in the summer?

If your big and fuzzy dog is out in hot weather, he may get over heated. He could get thirsty, and he could even get dehydrated. You need to make sure that your four legged friend has plenty of water at all times. He also needs a good place to cool off.

You can bring along a water supply for your dog, just like you have one for yourself. An extra water bottle will come in handy. If your dogs stays outside, in the yard, all through the hot summer days, take some extra care. Make sure he has plenty of water and a cool spot in the shade.

How can you keep your canine warm all winter?

Of course, some dogs can get very cold if the weather turns chilly. These dogs may have been bred for warmer climates. They are not meant to tolerate very cold weather at all!

If you keep a dog outside, in the cold, make sure he has a warm place to sleep in. Some people allow their dog in on very cold nights, or at least, they let him in the garage. An attached garage will always be a bit warmer because it gets heated by the house. You could also provide him with a dog shelter and some blankets.

You may even need to purchase cold weather clothes for your precious pup. You can buy sweaters, dog socks, and other garments, to help keep your dog warm. Your dog may need garments to stay warm, just like you do!

Your dog can bring you a lot of joy, comfort, and security. He expects you to take care of you. A little extra effort can keep your pooch comfortable all year!
