In December last year Hewlett Packard (HP) announced that price increases would be taking place for original HP LaserJet printer cartridges, these have been effective since 1st January 2012. The toner cartridges for HP’s line of business laser printers and multifunction printers have risen by approximately 2%. Whilst prices of certain Legacy toner cartridges have risen by 12-17%, these cartridges are used in the legacy printer models i.e. the LaserJet 4000 or 4100.

On average it looks as though the HP toner cartridges that will increase in price will increase by an average of 15%. HP blame global economic conditions that they have been faced with such as currency volatility and claim that the price increases put in place are a direct response to this.
