Men's Fashion 101: A Man's Manual On Wearing Socks

In case you wish to be taken seriously then you must dress the part. You have to listen to every little information, simply because they have the capacity to create or break your whole attire. Socks, are probably among the most ignored post of clothing, actually have the ability to render a man's respectability to zero if they are worn wrong. Even if you are wearing a thousand dollar suit and an equally expensive pair of leather shoes, they will all seem irrelevant if you pair them with white gym socks.

So to stop you from making a fool out of yourself because of poor sock choices, listed here is a short guide on how a real man selects and wears socks.

1. Dress shoes warrant the use of dress socks

Even if your sports socks are color black you shouldn't wear them with trendy dress shoes. Sports socks have a thick and rather fluffy weave, so they do not really suit with the smooth and stylish look of dress shoes. If you try to wear your gym socks with dress shoes you will find that they bunch over the sides and top of the shoes, which appears a bit goofy.

2. Your own socks must complement the pants, not the shoes

A lot of people are confused with this rule; a lot of individuals still think that the socks should match the color of the shoes, which is incorrect. The main reason why socks must match the pants is because when you are sitting down (which is the only time that your socks are clearly apparent) you need a great line of color that fits your pants to your shoes. If you have socks that don't fit your pants it makes a break in the line of color that breaks the flow of your entire outfit.

3. Don't wear socks if using flip flops or shorts

Shoes are designed to be used with just your bare feet, you will simply look goofy if you wear socks with your flip flops so don't even bother.
Some other special occasion where socks should be avoided is when using shorts. Socks with shorts will only make your legs look stumpy. If you really do need to wear socks with your shorts, invest in a good pair of ankle socks that are not so visible over your shoes.

4. Avoid novelty socks altogether

If you truly wish to be taken severely then why would you wish to wear bright yellow socks with SpongeBob Squarepants padded at the sides ? The only people that these kinds of socks will ever look nice on are those aged 3 years old or below, so if you can read this guide then you are probably too old to wear novelty socks.
Who would have imagined that socks would have such a direct impact on how you look ? Therefore if you need to be recognized by some others as a man who requires to be taken very seriously then just take a good look at your socks .
