Frankie Cocozza, the party-loving X Element hopeful, has been axed from the ITV competition.

"I no longer deserve my spot in the show, so I am as a result leaving. I'd prefer to thank everybody who has supported me."

A spokeswoman for The X Aspect said: "Frankie is leaving the show today soon after breaking competition rules.

"He is going to take some time out ahead of continuing his career as a singer. We wish him all of the ideal for his future."

Just moments ahead of leaving the show nowadays, Cocozza boasted to fans on Twitter that he was shooting the video for an X Element charity single, Wishing On A Star.

Programme bosses stated they would make an announcement tomorrow about how the Saturday show will pan out.

He said: "Frankie has apologised publicly also as personally to me plus the producers for his actions that led to him leaving the show.

"I'm hugely disappointed that he's thrown away an opportunity like this soon after working so difficult to get here.

"I'm sorry to determine him go as we've been by means of lots together in such a short time.

"I hope Frankie continues to appear to me as a friend and supporter and functions it all out, picks himself up and somehow tries to turn this into a positive."
