The 2011 Australian Year Of The Rabbit Silver Coin has the Chinese representation for "Rabbit" and the words "Year of the Rabbit" insribed in the picture with the letter "P" showing that the coin is produced by one of the foremost mints in the world, the Perth Mint. The coin's obverse displays the design created by expert sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley of crowned Queen Elizabeth II.

According to primal lore, the Buddha called forth all the beasts of his dominion on a Chinese New Year, but only twelve beasts showed up. Each of these 12 beasts were accorded a different locale on the zodiac with it's own year, in the order that the animal arrived. 2011, according to the Chinese calender, is the "Year of the Rabbit" and the people born in this year are believed to have an astounding knack to make the correct choices as well as being comprehensible, clever, sympathetic, and very well liked by other people.

Queen Elizabeth Alexandra Mary was born in 1926 and ascended to the throne after her father, King George VI. Queen Elizabeth II is the constitutional monarch of the 54 self-governing states branded as the Commonwealth of Nations. At present, the Queen's illustration is used on the coins and currencies of 33 unique countries and has appeared on the coins of as many as 78 countries through her reign. This gives Queen Elizabeth II the honor of being featured on the coins of more unique countries than every other person (breathing or obsolete).

In response to the discovery of extensive gold deposits in Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie, the Perth Mint was established in 1899. Along with the hopes of striking it prosperous, prospectors from all over the earth flooded into the area and brought their gold ore to the Perth Mint to have refined and struck into coins. The Perth Mint has developed a reputation for unpresidented high quality and purity from the coinage that it has fashioned all through the years.

According to Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in London, the Perth Mint produced what was arguably the purest gold yet refined in 1957 after it fashioned a gold plate that was 99.9999% pure. Being accordingly impressed with this feat, the Royal Mint ordered a little supply of gold to serve as a benchmark for it's specific principles. The Perth Mint is one of the most respected mints in the world and their official gold, silver, and platinum tender coins are trusted by collectors and investors all over with no uncertainty.

The 2011 Australian "Year of the Rabbit" silver coin weighs 31.135 g, has a diameter of 45.6 mm, a thickness of 2.6mm, and a purity of .999 fine silver.
