If you are going to play as the Terrans, you will need some good build orders to start the online match. All StarCraft 2 players, from newbies to professional players have started to try different methods to dominate and try to become the best player the world has seen.

The Terran is considered the best balanced out of all races in the game. It is built up of units that are very versatile and also have very stable structures too. There however downsides to playing as the Terrans however.

Terrans can sometimes be vulnerable to sudden attacks from enemies if they are caught unaware. They become easy targets to their enemies when they are not careful. Many players have started to think of various methods and strategies to combat this disadvantage. We'll now take a look at a particular build known as the Orbital Command Opening which can be used against all other races.

The best aspect of this build is that it can transition into a whole variety of other builds. It plays a major role in setting up the early economy of Terrans and therefore it will be prudent to have this build in mind.

The Terran's main Macro mechanic is the use of the Mule call down. There are various strategies that are very effective but you will see that bringing the Mule into play will provide a generous boost to your economy, allowing you to field more units such as Siege Tanks and Banshees.

When going for the Orbital Command Opening, you will first have to make SCVs until you reach ten supply. Then you should make a supply depot. Afterwards construct a Barracks near your ramp to help barricade it. While building these structures you should continue producing workers. After you have created a Barracks you should create a refinery and train a Marine.

At fifteen supply you should have the minerals to upgrade your Command Center into an Orbital Command. Initiate the upgrade and when at sixteen supply build another Supply Depot to complete the ramp wall in. Note that it's not always a good idea to create such an early wall against a Terran opponent. Mules can now be called down although if you suspect that your opponent will be using cloaked units it may be wise to have energy saved up for one Scan.

Following this fundamental build order will give you access to the Mule in a short amount of time. After the Orbital Command Opening you can transition into other builds. One of the common builds is the 1Rax 1Fact 1Port build which is the most flexible in terms of units available. Another interesting build is the Rax Fac Opening which allows for a quick tech up to vehicles. If you wish to expand early in the game then the Siege Expand build is a possibility.
