Playing Starcraft 2 as a Protoss can be rather interesting. However, for you to constantly win matches, you need to have a good build order. Many of you might be wondering what a good build order is. Well, it is a solid build order which you use from the beginning so as to defeat your enemies later on. The good news is that there are several Protoss top build orders that you can choose from.

Build orders usually act as a platform for a player's strategy, that is why it is important for every player to have sound build orders. The following is an example of a good build order. You start by using your initial Probes to collect minerals. Continue creating them until they reach nine. Then take the ninth one and start constructing a Pylon.

When the population of the Probes reaches twelve, construct an Extractor and a Gateway. When the buildings are being constructed, constantly create more probes until their count reaches sixteen. After this is done, create some Zealots and extra Pylons.

At this point in time, you might need some Stalkers among your units, so it is advisable that you construct a Cybernetics Core. However, do not forget to continue building Probes since they are the foundation of a build order.

Construct an extra gateway and extractor if you are comfortable with the number of units you have. Once this is through, you are done with the build order. Your base foundation will be ready and now you can use the strategy that you feel suits you best, so as to conquer your enemies. There are also a few other build orders that you can go with such as the 4 Warpgate Rush, the 3-Gate Sentry Expand or even the Cannon Rush.

There are a few tips here which you can use in the order to get the edge on your opponents. If your opponent is a Zerg, you can construct some Sentries and place them in strategic positions so as to protect your units from attacks by using Forcefields. If you are playing against Terrans, expand your base vigorously and harass them with your Stalkers and Zealots.

Contrary to what some may believe, there is no perfect Protoss build order. Every order varies according to the opponent and the type of technique and strategy they use. However, this does not mean that there is no fundamental order that can help you establish your position early in the game.

Various StarCraft 2 guides normally have all the top tactics and strategies from the best players in the Diamond division. So, by reading the guides you can know exactly how to use covert strategies for each race and how to use each unit to the best of its ability. Master the top Protoss build orders and you will have an easier time beating your opponents.
