By now I imagine we've all learned the difference between an actual friend and a digital friend or smiling imagine on that Facebook web site, or at least most of us know the difference, as I am wondering about all of those other social networking crowd lately. Just as letters are place in a specific series to represent words, and words strung together to depict ideas, concepts, events, know-how, or thoughts - all these pictures on one's social networking page are merely representations - but of what My partner and i ask?
How does anyone know their newest friends, who they've never met have been even the people people represent, how does one know that? Okay so, I dare to inquire the question of a few X'er with 750 friends listed on the Facebook page who they have never actually met, so why you ask, well, let's discuss this shall we?
There would be an interesting article within MIT's Technology Review just lately " Twitter Bots Create Surprising New Social Internet connections - Researchers show how simple programs posing as real people can shape interactions on Twitter, " by Mike Orcutt published with January 24, 2012. This great article stated:
"You might get encountered a "Twitter bot" in advance of: an automated program which perhaps retweeted something you wrote since it had particular keywords. Or maybe you received a message from an unfamiliar, seemingly human-controlled account, only to click on an accompanying link and realize you'd been fooled by the spambot. "
Yes, the following we go, computer scientists are actually working hard to with the "Turing Test" AI exploits, in fact, I've been kind of playing around with an artificial intelligent "philosophy" program lately, I haven't bothered to let the computer programmer know that i know it's not serious, as I am studying by watching it, and only giving various clues to see if the programmers studying it are wise enough to learn when someone is "playing it" - it turns out the thing is really decent.
Now then, when a computer program can do that, at that level, then surely a "twitter bot" or web 2 . 0 bot can and will be used against you inside court of public opinion on myspace - amazing is that very few people quite possibly see what's happening now behind the scenes or how these social networks are manipulating human mass behavior in our society.
Can an AI laptop computer program cause riots, disorder, and break down civilizations and society in real life? One day it might just, for instance an Arab Spring, initiated by some sort of self-aware (semi) computer program, just having a little fun. So, think with that, because this technology is almost here and capable with 2012.
