To the cynic, and those of us who are not partial to golf, the simple truth of the matter is that indoor putting greens may seem a colossal waste of time, not to mention money. Given the significant amount of space they will undoubtedly require, in order to comfortably fit within the confines of indoors, not to mention the cost, surely they are just not worth the financial commitment?

In truth, indoor putting greens actually pose a remarkable benefit for the consumer in that they will allow them to continually practise and hone their craft whilst in the meantime, never having to worry about paying for membership fees. I don't know about you, but it seems that golfing clubs are designed solely to cater for the very rich, very pretentious, or the very ambitious (not to mention insecure). In the cult US show, Dexter, Dexter approaches his family friend and superior, Captain Tom Matthews, who expresses surprise at seeing his subordinate at the golfing club to which he is a member. Dexter drolly replies:
"It's a little out of my pay grade."

In truth, this is not just a convenient stereotype that can be relied upon by jaded scriptwriters who are over budget, over worked and desperately inching ever nearer to an impending deadline. Golfing clubs and the fees that they charge for such services are nothing short of astronomical and whilst they are the perfect place to rub shoulders with the rich and powerful, the admission fee alone will ensure that the riff raff are kept firmly out.

Therein lies the fatal flaw of the golfing clubs: they price themselves out of the comfortable financial reach of the average golfing enthusiast, thereby alienating an entire strata of the market. Thankfully, indoor putting greens provide us who are not ridiculously wealthy with a more cost effective and reliable means of actually improving our handicap (golfing handicap, not our financial one.) indoor putting greens may seem like an extravagant eccentricity, indeed, perhaps even a white elephant. However, when you compare the initial down payment you would be required to install indoor putting greens in your home, versus the long term costs of attending a golfing club, the savings are astounding. The numbers won't and can't lie, indoor putting greens are just about the most cost effective means of improving your game that there is on the market.
